David first traveled to France as a young man in 1963. He visited Paris, Burgundy, Cognac, Bordeaux, Gascony and Normandy during a five-week voyage and over the following decades, became a lifelong Francophile. He is an independent writer, contributing his wine, food and travel stories to The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Time, Newsweek, Food Arts, Daily Beast.com and Wine Spectator among many others. He has also held positions as managing editor and several senior editorial positions at Wine Spectator, Market Watch, Cigar Aficionado and Impact. David has a Master’s in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor’s, with Honors, from Marlboro College, Marlboro, Vermont. He lives in Millbrook, New York.
