Letter from Our Founder

July 4, 2025

Welcome!

As a lifelong liberal, my core beliefs are in freedom of the press, my right to speak my mind and community inclusive egalitarianism. I try to always see everyone as a potential friend until proven wrong. Our descent into the second Trump era made me extremely distressed for our entire society. Early this year, I shook off my fear of retribution and became an activist in the practical applications of the concept of twenty-first century liberalism as defined by Adam Gopnik’s book A THOUSAND SMALL SANITIES.

As the second iteration of the unethical, egotistical, narcissistic, lying, nasty, convicted felon was to fall upon us, on January 18th of this year, together with friends and neighbors, I began to design EthicalGovtNow.org. We are a non-profit pro-democracy organization: an online, long term “Third Way” national movement meant to challenge every concerned American to think more deeply about the systemic issues of our time, manynot being addressed by either political party. I sincerely hope that you will evaluate our intent, mission and goals and decide to stand with us on our social media soapbox, in the center of what is now our new national town square: the internet.

What is “a Third Way”?

On our part, we are calling out to all citizens who visit this site - independents, centrists, liberals, progressives, even classic fiscal conservatives and former Trump voters now distressed by the fear-filled actions of his administration - tojoin us today in committing to rebuild the hard-earned, two-century-long, trust now lost, with our neighbors, our allies and the entire world. We promise to present our recommendations of the most qualified candidates to reconstitute our precious democracy in the 2028 presidential election.

Today, EthicalGovtNow.org has begun the journey toward a better future. We are planning college campus chapters to engage tomorrow’s citizens—in their quest for a happier, more egalitarian American future. We will support exceptional, younger, candidates who exhibit the best ethical commitment to public service that they may, one day, graduate into tomorrow’s leaders. We will invite and continue to distill and recommend proposals for congressional legislative reform to help rebuild the trust we’ve lost in unethical politicians. As you will see on our site, we’ve already begun to address inequities of outdated legislative structures that we believe badly need reform.

Sincerely,
